» Get the Dirt on Meds Through Reviews

By China at 10:39 AM

When my doctor prescribes me medication, I always go online to check out the drug reviews. The FDA is very quick to put drugs on the market and then find out later what is wrong with them, so in this spirit I like to be informed. There is a lot of information available about drugs on the web, and I truly recommend that anyone who is taking any medications needs to check out the meds reviews online and find out all they can about the drugs they are taking. Another great way to find out about the drugs you are taking is to ask your pharmacist. They actually have a more intricate drug education than doctors, because that is the focus of their job. They have a strong understanding of not only the different drugs and what they are for, but also information about effects, side effects and drug interactions. Any time you are on a medication and are thinking about taking something along with it, it is always a good idea to check at the pharmacy counter, or online for all the drug interaction information you can find. Personally, I rely on my pharmacist a lot, and I know that he is someone who will give it to me straight and let me know what I am dealing with.

I don't take much medication, but I do find that with my mother and grandmother for instance, using the resources you have available becomes more important with the more and more medications you are taking. There can be many more issues with drug interactions the more of them you take, and therefore, for not only your health but your well being, choosing the right pharmacist or researching each drug online is imperative. I recommend not even considering taking a drug without checking into it fully first, unless it is an immediate life or death situation, then obviously, you need to just take the medication and hope for the best.

A doctor can prescribe medication for you, however it is a good idea to know all there is to know about the drugs you are taking. This knowledge could save your life.

» Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

By China at 12:42 PM

Some people say that Christmas shows or other special TV events are their favorite time of year on TV but mine is without a doubt the Victoria's Secret Fashion show. It's that time of year when you get to see all of the new line and the models strutting their stuff wearing sexy lingerie and these huge angel wings. It is impressive to watch them walk around in so little and be so comfortable and even with hose huge heels on and not fall or trip over the wings. I could never ever be able to do that (nor would i want to probably) but it is fun to see them.

It isn't all just about the models and clothes though. There is a huge part on background about the line and store as a whole which is interesting and there are so many other famous people that go and perform. My favorite part though is when they show the models back stage getting ready before each time they walk and they show them changing and quickly and running around looking crazy and then they come out and walk on the runway and they look perfect somehow. They even show them getting their hair and makeup done and what they do before and after the show. You get to see everything from before the runway show to way after. It starts with models and quests and performers walking in and getting to getting ready, to performances in between to even after the show when they go to McDonalds and eat a big Mac after having to diet and workout so long and hard. Sometimes we even go out for a burger afterwards just from seeing how thin they are to celebrate for them ha.

It seems silly, but the whole thing really is magical. The runway and everything around it (and obviously the models) look amazing and it makes you want to be there. Everyone there is having such a great time and there is such a positive attitude and such a great vibe. Some people say that watching these gorgeous girls walking around in their lingerie makes them feel bad about themselves but my friends and I have such a great time. We all get together to watch it each year and it is so much fun to see and it feels like you are a part of it and there.

» Housewives of Orange County and Their Personal Trainers

By China at 11:04 AM

Have you ever seen the show Housewives of Orange County on the Bravo channel? It feels like every one of those housewives look great (or are in the process of working out to look great). They only talk about a few of the housewives (I think there are like five or six of them on the show) but I can only imagine that most of them look like that. So I would have to guess (just from at least seeing the show and them having them) that a lot of these women (and men too) have trainers to help them get into that kind of shape and keep them looking like that. Just on that one TV show about the five women two of them are shown having personal trainers so if you think about that (and consider that the others probably do) that's at least about half of the women in that city with trainers. Most of the shows consist of at least one of the women (Gina) talking about her trainer or getting into shape or they actually show him coming to her house and going through her food and building her a gym and showing her the exercises. And on another few episodes they show two of the women doing a private boot camp and working out together with a personal trainer.

I would want to be a trainer there for sure. You would probably be guaranteed a job as well as getting paid a lot to do it. I bet that the Fitness Trainer School in Orange County, CA is packed with people who want to learn to do that and are looking to stay in that area to find a job. Because while a lot of people in other parts of the country are hurting financially from the economy right now, I am sure that most of those families are still doing okay and can afford to have trainers while other areas people would probably cut back on that luxury right away to save money.

It is a good thing for personal Trainers in Orange County now to be there because they probably will be keeping their job and can continue to help their clients stay in great shape. Because while the rest of us are cutting back on extras, the people there are still looking good ha!

» Acne

By China at 9:54 AM

A few days before we left for winter break my roommates and I were talking about how expensive some acne treatment has gotten. When we went shopping the week before we got face wash and it was like 6 or 7 dollars for a tiny thing of regular acne face wash and we got into a whole talk about what kind is best and how it depends on who is using it and what kind of skin they have.

Thankfully I have never really had to deal with acne (my roommates hate me for that because they all take prescription medicine to keep theirs under control and from coming out). But honestly I have had pretty good skin my whole life. I'm not sure if it's genetic or not, but other than a few pimples now and then (like maybe once a year that you can barely see and go away within a day or so) I have never had a problem. I try to wash my face before I go to bed, but to be completely honest it probably happens like once a week where I actually take the time out to wash it and put on moisturizer. The other days, especially when I go out, I just fall asleep with makeup on and then shower in the morning before class, which my roommate thinks is horrible and always yells at me about, but I haven't really had a problem with it yet so it seems fine to me. I like to read the articles though in magazines about keeping your skin nice and trying new products but I feel like since I have never really had a problem with my skin I don't want to spend a ton of money on different products trying to make it better. It just seems silly to me. But I did just spend 7 dollars to get this grapefruit smelling face wash which really won't make any difference on my face than regular bar soap, I just like the smell.

I thought it was in junior high and high school that most people had to deal with acne and use an acne treatment but I have seen and hear so many people in college talking about what a problem it has been for them after they turned like 20 ish. That surprised me a lot, I always thought that the older you got the better your skin was, or at least less oily and you knew how to take care of it better. I guess it really does just depend on the person.

» Home Security

By China at 7:38 AM

I remember when we got our first home security system. It was when I first started high school (or maybe a little bit before that) and we had this guy come in and ask us all kinds of different, and weird, questions. He asked us if we get up a lot at night or how often we go outside (how on earth do you answer a question like that) and also about our dog and his invisible fence. There was a whole book of questions we had to fill out (they even asked how often we go to the bathroom at night). But I guess the reason for all of the questions was so that we could get a security system that fit our family and its needs.

They told us that different people with different routines or different age groups of children needed different protection (which makes sense I guess I just never really thought about it that hard before). So if we get up a lot at night to go to the bathroom or my sister and I are older and come in and out of the house late at night we wouldn't want an alarm that sensor after midnight and goes off. But maybe an elderly couple does or a single person or a family with smaller children who need to keep tabs on it. But if we had that, with my sister and I coming in and out with friends it would never stop going off.

We also had to talk about a security camera and how we felt about them and what rooms (if any we wanted them in). Since it is my dad who is in charge of them and my sister and I are older it would be kind of weird to have them in our bedrooms, but my younger brother and sister had one in theirs for a little while when they were babies so he could keep an eye on them in his office. We have one in the basement and then in the hallway and outside by each of the doors and by the deck and pool. They are all hooked up to the screen in my dad's office so he (or we) could look at them if need be. Security systems are tricky sometimes and go off when they aren't supposed to, but I think overall it makes us feel better having one.

» CYBERDEFENDER ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE IS THE BEST

By China at 8:38 AM

I admit, that I really don't know much about the way things work, nor do I really care to. As long as a device is working properly, I never really give thought to how or why it works. Recently, my laptop was having some major problems and I really didn't know what was going on with it. It was moving very slowly and weird things kept popping up. When I told my roommate about it, she said that my computer probably had a virus and what type of antivirus software was I using. I told her, I really didn't know, so she offered to look at it for me and found out that my computer didn't have any computer virus protection at all. She said that was probably my problem and suggested that I read this blog that she read. She set up the blog and across the top it said Brand New Computer Protection Blog highlights Cyberdefender. I really didn't know what to expect, but the blog was very interesting and talked about the importance of computer virus protection and that Cyberdefender was one of the best products on the market to help block out spam and viruses and to insure that your computer stays safe from attacks.

I had never heard of this product before, or even of anti-virus software. I mean call me naive, but I really thought that when you bought a computer it came with everything you needed not only to run the thing, but to keep it running. Well, my friend helped me to get Cyberdefender installed in my computer, and immediately she helped me run a scan and it found 182 viruses, which it then isolated and cleaned out for me. It was very simple to do, and I felt a little stupid that I didn't know what to do, but when all was done, my computer was running better than ever.

If your computer is running slowly, then get help to find out what the problem is, and if you don't currently have an antivirus program in your system, consider installing Cyberdefender. It worked really well for me.
