» Hotel Berlin

By China at 9:55 AM

Planning trips can be really complicated now that we have so many things to do and so many options to explore. From choosing a hotel to stay in to the activities planned out for your stay, you can get pretty overwhelmed. While the internet has made everything accessible to you in a split second, it is hard to know exactly what you are getting from a picture and whether or not the site maker is being truthful, especially when you are traveling further away, like outside of the country. While looking at hotels in Berlin, I came across the Hotel Fontane Berlin. It seemed to be located in a great spot, with many activities to participate in close by, but to someone who may be planning a trip from miles and miles away, you need more detail than “central location”. Thankfully this particular website goes in to great detail about their facilities and gives you entertainment ideas. This Hotel Berlin is equipped with a tennis court, fitness center, spa and several other facilities. I love when websites give you particulars as opposed to saying “workout facility” this website, along with many others I have seen more recently specify the particular activity, like tennis courts and points out places for hiking. This is great if you are trying to keep in shape and are looking for a hotel that can accommodate that need. This hotel obviously understands, but I feel like sometimes businesses or hotels for example do not completely grasp the impact of technology and internet has on consumers. When looking at a hotel website, I want to see pictures from every angle, I also want to know directions (maybe a link to MapQuest), and also activities both at the hotel and around. Anything that can make my trip better and is easily accessible to learn online is great. People today do not want to spend time calling around hotels to ask specific questions like is my pet allowed, or what type of workout facility do you have? They want to be able to click a button and see right away what you have and what you don't. If that is not listed on your website, I know I would pass it up most likely, that is just how people are today. So making things easily accessible and getting the information out there for the client is key for traveling businesses to thrive now.

» cheap laptops

By China at 10:34 AM

My father has been looking to purchase a computer for years, and is still looking and thinking about it. Sometimes it is overwhelming for older people to make a change, and I think that he is a bit intimidated by all the technology of today. I also think that he doesn't want to spend the money on it. He got a computer from my brother in law for free and he hooked it up and e-mailed me from it, but then he said that it didn't work right and that he had to get a new one because they couldn't get it online. Well, needless to say this made little sense considering the fact that he had been able to e-mail me from it which was an obvious indication to me that it was capable of getting online.

Of late, he and my brother in law have been shopping around and pricing cheap laptops. My father says that he likes the Lenovo laptops the best and that they are the best buy for the money. I did go online and look up Lenovo laptops and they really are a good deal, but I really worry about this man who has little or no knowledge of computers going to a place with a salesman who is either going to sell him things that he doesn't need, or not sell him the things he does. I have tried to convince him to wait until next month when I will be there and can go with him, but he insists that he can only get this great deal if he buys the computer this week.

I was still skeptical so I called my sister who lives in the next town over and is a bit more internet savvy then my father and I asked her to go with dad over to pick out his new laptop, so that he doesn't get ripped off. She said that she would be happy to help dad, and she would make it a date to take him to dinner and then over to pick up the laptop. As parents get older it is important for the kids to be able to work together in caring for their parents. My sister is a big help and I am glad that she is nearby since I can't be.

» acne treatments

By China at 9:23 AM

I went to visit my uncle back home over the weekend, and he was talking to me about his teenage years and what a lonely time it was for him. When he was about 15 he had reached his current height of 6 feet 5 inches tall and his face was covered in acne. He was very shy and of course they did not have the acne treatments available back then, like they have them so readily available today. It was really hard for him socially feeling so insecure, and as he became more confident with himself his acne cleared only to leave him permanently scared all over his face. He now has skin with creators all over it, he is still relatively shy, and lives alone, which needless to say is why I try to make a trip to visit him about every 6 months or so. I just can't help but wonder if his skin condition has not caused so many of his problems in life.

Teenagers today don't realize how lucky they are to have all the skin care products at their disposal. The teenage years can be hard enough but I can't imagine having to go through them with a face full of pimples. And some kids don't just get acne on their face, some actually get pimples all over their bodies. How horrifying at a time where you are becoming interested in members of the opposite sex and trying to become comfortable with your changing body. It just seems to me that parents really need to be aware that the cosmetic aspect of this can ruin a teenager's self confidence and make them a target for bullying and taunting. I don't think that a lot of parents realize how devastating acne can be on a teenager and their growing self esteem.

Acne products are very easy to get these days, and they are very inexpensive. These products are definitely worth the investment, especially if you have a teenager, whose looks are being significantly effected by acne. Allow your teenager to feel good about themselves, and invest in their self esteem by getting them the help they need to clear their skin and keep it looking good. What is on the inside is most important, but to a teenager looks are everything and they can effect what type of adult they will become.

» diet pills

By China at 9:06 AM

With the summer in full force, I have been trying my best to stay outside at all times. With an almost endless supply of sunny days, I have been soaking it up from my the seat of my bike and the grass in the park. I am also really lucky that my job, since classes are done till September, is to lead tours of nature trails in the area. I guess I would have to say that this summer has been the best one that I have ever had so far. I have also been pretty motivated both by shear enjoyment of riding my bike, but also by the prospect of staying more fit for the summer.

I have been signed up, and finished, a bunch of bike races this summer. All of them have been mountain trail rides that are upwards of forty miles. To keep myself in shape for this I have been doing all traveling by bike, as well as doing at least a fifteen mile ride every single day since classes ended. I plan on keeping this up even in the winter after the race seasons are over by riding indoors on my spinning machine. To keep up with all of this I have had to watch my diet really closely. I have been making sure that every meal includes some kind of carbohydrates in it as well as watching my fluid intake. I have also tried my best to keep all toxins out of my body and to monitor my blood pressure and heart rate every day. To keep up with all of the demands I have put on myself, I have also been taking a new set of diet pills. I have been taking them because they give me an extra boost of energy as well as keeping my body slim so that I can stay fast when it really counts. Since I started taking these diet pills I have felt like I am more in control of my own body and that I can really handle all of my own weight when I am on the bike. Hopefully it stays this way because every day my times have been getting better for the trail rides and I have been feeling stronger every time. It's a very great feeling.

» apotheke

By China at 4:12 PM

You know how every once in a while you have to do an assignment in school that just totally doesn't interest you and you just put it off until the last minute. I know that I am certainly not the only one who does this but I am quite experienced with the whole of the process. Right now because of summer and my desire to finish my degree as fast as possible, I have been taking classes all summer long. To make sure that everything works out for me I have decided that this session I am only taking one class. The class is the basics of German. I am not taking this out of interest, because I am not very good at learning languages, but I am taking it as both a resume booster and some quick refreshment in case I ever have to, god forbid, work with Germans or in Germany. Anyway, aside from my motivations to be a successful business person, there is really nothing in this class for me. So the only way I have been surviving is by making my time outside of class as valuable as possible. Right now though I have found that this class has a ton of assignments. Though they are quite small, they are just painfully boring and sometimes make me feel like the teacher is patronizing the students.

Take the current assignment for example. I have to translate this piece of German writing that is as follow:

Now I totally understand that the teacher has to make it easy for us to learn things, but this just doesn't make sense. I can just take this little bit of writing and plug it in to a translator and never learn a thing about the language. I think that a language is best earned through immersion in the culture and the people who speak it. Not through mindless translation and baby talk.

» pet care

By China at 9:37 AM

Spoke to my mother today on the phone and she told me that she finally convinced my father to get another dog. When my brother and I were growing up we went about 2 hours away with my mother to look at 2 dogs and to pick one. They were the only 2 left from the litter, well, my brother wanted the one and I wanted the other, which by the way was pretty typical as we were always on opposite sides of the fence. We were 19 and 16 and we talked my mother into bringing home 2 dogs, since we thought it was cruel to leave one behind. Anyway, no exaggeration my father nearly blew a gasket. But both my parents grew to love the 2 dogs, and as my brother and I grew up and moved out, the dogs stayed with my parents. They couldn't give them up and we felt guilty separating the two sisters who had been together since birth. Well, one fell ill and had to be put to sleep. The other one lived quite a bit longer, but also became very ill and also had to be put to sleep. My parents were heart broken, but decided that they were at the point in their life where they really didn't want to have to keep up with the constant pet care.

Well, lately my mother has been wanting another little dog, a Bishon, that was the breed of the other 2 that they had had. Mom has finally talked Daddy into getting another dog, and my father's friend from the humane society set them up with a Bishon that was in need of a home. Anyway, they brought her home last night, and her name is Fluffy. She has been so far doing very well and my mother sounds like she has a new baby.

Maybe, it is a need for us women to constantly have a baby to take care of and love. I am not sure, but I can tell even over the phone that little Fluffy has stolen my mom's heart already. Now, there will be lots of pet care in their future, and I just hope they don't baby her in the same way they babied the last dog, or we are all in trouble.

» house cleaning

By China at 9:43 AM

In a house full of children, house cleaning is a thankless job. When I used to stay at home during the days, I at least could get the house cleaning and maintain it for a little while, which did not make it seem as hopeless. Now, having to work and go to school, I can't nearly keep up with the laundry and the dishes much less actually ripping apart closets and stuff. Having kids running through the house all summer long, makes it even worse. You would think that there would be more time to clean, and there probably is, but with as many kids as we have coming through here it is more like trying to clean up after a tornado has come through. When I was younger, before the invasion of the body snatchers (the arrival of our children) I kept an immaculate house. I cleaned and cooked all weekend long. I used to wash all my little crystal figurines every week to keep them looking nice. Now, forget about crystal figurines, I live in a house will 3 boys, whose passion is soccer and practicing it in my living room seems to be their favorite past time. My husband honestly is no help either, sure he complains that the kids don't clean up, but you can literally follow his path through the house. If he pours a bowl of cereal, the cereal is still out on the counter. When he gets ready for work, he doesn't even close the dresser drawers after he takes his clothes out. And after arriving home from a long day at work, he just strips his clothes off and leaves them anywhere. Then he may or may not return to retrieve them.

As you can hear these are the rants of a mother and wife, living in a home with too much testosterone. Don't get me wrong, I love my boys all 4 of them, but living with them is making me a bit batty. I need at least one child who is a neat freak, unfortunately, that doesn't seem like it is going to happen. Needless to say, I have resigned myself to living in a pig sty at least until they are grown and move out...10 years or so...I am keeping my eye on the prize.

» free psychic

By China at 12:30 PM

Back a few years ago I went to a psychic in person. I had heard her on a radio show several times and she seemed really ligit. So a friend of mine and I went to see her and she did a psychic reading and it was really cool. My friend actually had a lot of good information given to her, which by the way did eventually come true, I on the other hand can't really recall any major revelations coming from that meeting. There was another reading that my mother in law had done years before I met her, and she actually found out that my husband, who at the time was experiencing a lot of difficulties was going to be surrounded by lots of kids and his life was going to be on a better track. She never told anyone about this reading but years later, now he has 5 kids and is doing really well. She said that when the psychic told her that she thought it was a lot of garbage.

Well, recently I have been feeling in need of some guidance, and I decided to participate in a psychic chat online. I really felt that it was a good time to start looking toward the future again. I do believe that there are people who have psychic abilities, however, I was a bit skeptical to do this online. I never really thought of the internet as a psychic channel and my initial experience was with a free psychic hot line, which I was sure must have been bogus. When I did my free online psychic chat, the psychic came up with several things and names of people that she never could have known unless she were actually psychic. I was really impressed with my initial free reading and I've called up a few times since then for updates. I really am impressed with the things that she touched upon that were going to happen and the way that she seemed to even be able to tune into my current situation and feelings.

I am not saying that psychics are the be all end all or anything crazy like that, but I do feel that the information can sometimes get us moving in a good direction when we feel like we are a little off our life's path.
