» TEMPORARY MEDICAL INSURANCE FILLS IN THE GAPS

By China at 3:23 PM

If you are in need of short term health insurance then there is an option that you should be aware of. There are many different companies out there that can offer you something called temporary medical insurance. Temporary medical insurance is an excellent option if you are between jobs or have been recently laid off. It is also extremely helpful if you are working for a company that has no health insurance benefits. The purpose of this insurance is to be used as a temporary insurance when there are lapses in policy. Many people opt for remaining uninsured during there lapses in health insurance, however, this is not a wise choice. The main reason this is not a good idea is that a new health insurance company will closely scrutinize an applicant who has not maintained health insurance for a period of 6 months or more. They will then penalize you for not having had insurance and will begin to deny your new claims, claiming they are for pre-existing conditions. This can be a real hassle. I found out this information from an Illinois health insurance company representative, who told me all about this and how more and more health insurance companies were penalizing people who went for a period of time without insurance.

This just seems a little cruel to me. I mean it is bad enough you have had to switch jobs and live without insurance, but then to penalize you because you couldn't afford to pay for it, that is just too much. Anyway, that is what makes temporary medical insurance such a blessing. Believe me, even if you think that you can't afford it, you really can't afford not to have it. When you are dealing with the big insurance companies, you must cover all of your bases, to insure that you will be covered fully again down the road. Paying for insurance can be a hassle, but not paying for it will cost you a lot more in the long run, take it from me.

» En terapeut kan være et bedre valg end en psykolog

By China at 1:04 PM

» Cleanses

By China at 12:36 PM

Cleansing seems like a big thing right now. I was watching a talk show one day a few weeks ago and they were talking about all of the kinds of ways celebrities are dieting today and how they are losing weight in short periods of time.

I heard details about a few of them like the Dual Action Cleanse and another one with pepper and lemon juice that you can make at home using a ton of ingredients. The dual action cleanse cleans your colon out and eliminates toxins from your body. This kind of cleanse keeps your energy up and you feeling and looking good.

Other cleanses like the homemade one that I heard about that the celebrities are taking to lose weight fast seem more dangerous to me. You make the drink and then that's all you consume for a whole week. It is supposed to clean out your whole body and then you can start new but I feel like you are basically starving yourself. It seems to work for them and I guess if you only do it for a short period of time then it is probably okay and won't do much harm to you or your body. I think I will have to stick to the old fashion way of losing weight though because I can't go more than a few hours without getting hungry or wanting to eat something (even if it's just an apple or banana). I feel better though after I work out. It doesn't just help me to lose weight, I also have more energy and I have an overall better feeling about myself.

I think if you are taking a cleanser like the dual action just to clear out your system then it is a good idea but if you are just using one like the homemade one to take the easy way out and try to lose weight fast without actually having to do anything then I think it is dangerous and not such a good idea. And if you do it the right way (diet and exercise) you are able to stick to a healthy routine and help your body and mind over all instead of just getting an immediate result and then yo-yo dieting for the rest of your life. Getting your body on a schedule is a good idea so you can keep healthy habits forever.

» NURSING JOBS ARE STILL PLENTIFUL

By China at 10:14 AM

I know that everyone is complaining about a slow economy and how there are no jobs out there. Well, that is far from the case in the medical field. Lately I have been looking around on the web for a job and it seems like there are the same Nursing Job Listings week after week. They just seem to not be able to fill these jobs fast enough. I think it is probably because so many people don't want to have to go through the training to get the skills they need for these jobs, but it seems to me that it would be a worthwhile investment. As a matter of fact, I have decided to go back to school for nursing. I think it is an incredible opportunity to help people while working in a secure career with a future. There are so many different things that you can do with a nursing degree. You can work in a residential facility or a hospital, do hospice care or even just work in a doctors office. Whatever you choose, the possiblities are endless.

If you search nursing resumes, you will see that there are many different options in this field, and if you do the research you will see that there are tons of job opportunities in the medical field. It is unlike any other field in the fact that it just keeps growing.

Nursing jobs are not the only positions needed to be filled in the medical community. There is a growing need for surgical assistants, medical assistants and dental assistants and these positions actually require less education, if that is something that is more to your liking.

Whatever your choice it is a good time to consider a job in the medical field. It is a growing field with lots of room for advancement and salaries that can't be beat. Check your local paper if you don't believe me, the help wanted section will be small but I guarantee that you will find ads for home health aides and nurses. They are always in demand.

» OFFSHORE BANKING, NOT JUST FOR THE SUPER RICH

By China at 8:42 AM

It used to be that only the big wigs knew about the advantages of offshore incorporation, but now it is becoming more and more a common business practice and is serving many benefits for those who are taking advantage of this opportunity.

This completely legal opportunity can be sought out by all, and it is definitely worth looking into it, since offshore banking is a way to protect your assets and personal information. Since no courts have jurisdiction over these types of accounts, the money will remain tax free and no liens or judgments can be placed on these types of accounts. No country in the world, can access these monies or take them from you since no one has any hold over these monies, and yet this is a totally legitimate way to create tax havens and protect your money.

The following are some of the main benefits to asset protection using offshore accounts:

- To keep money from competitors, claimants, ex-spouses, and other parties from whom you wish to keep your business interests private.

- Estate Planning

- To secure your assets against future claims, such as bankruptcy, creditors and judgments.

- Confidentiality

- Reducing Tax Liabilities

- Asset Protection

- Private Foundations and Offshore Protective Trusts for family and other beneficiaries to help them have this money free and clear of income tax, inheritance tax or capital gains taxes.

- To retain more of your own assets for your own uses.

When all is said and done, the government winds up getting about 50% of your money and that is why opening an offshore account is attractive to so many people. Having access to more of the money that you have accumulated, makes this such an attractive option that I often wonder why more people are not doing it. Perhaps it is because they think that they are doing something wrong, but again this is a perfectly legal solution and a great way to protect your assets from judgment, liens and taxes. These types of accounts help protect your privacy while allowing you to have access to your own money at any time.

» Today's Economy

By China at 10:41 AM

The economy today is terrible. People are foreclosing on their homes and can't afford to feed their children. It is sad and something needs to be done about it. I feel like people are using credit more and more now (which is one of the reasons that we got into this mess in the first place) but they really have no other choice because less money is coming in (or for some people no money) and more and more money is going out. Of course people are supposed to have emergency funds for this right? Well even if they did, I am sure that they are spending a lot of it by now and those who don't, probably couldn't afford it because they were already in a tight situation before this all happened.

The problem is we need to have a big debt reduction. American families are climbing deeper and deeper into debt and it is really hard to fix since the economy is so bad and they need all of their extra money coming in. Debt settlement companies are here to help people but I feel like right now it is going to get a lot worse before it gets a lot better, especially since a lot of people are having to use credit cards to pay for basic necessities like groceries and even bills. Debt negotiation is something to be looked into though for families who need help. Talking to creditors or companies to reduce your interest rate or consolidate is something that really should be looked into.

The problem is that people who couldn't afford to put away extra money before this economic crisis certainly can't now and they are faller deeper and deeper into debt. And even the people that could afford it can't really afford to keep putting money away and they are using it up now. It really is a sad time right now, especially being the holidays and people getting laid off from their jobs at a time like this. People need to be making more money now to keep up with the increase of expenses, but instead they are making less or even no money at all. It is scary to think about this situation getting worse before it gets better, but that's all I keep hearing on the news or in finance class. So I guess saving all the money I can right now is my best (and probably only) bet.

» Insurance

By China at 3:51 PM

Texas auto insurance is something that I have recently had a lot of interaction with. My roommate got into an accident on her way back to school after thanksgiving break and she is from Texas and her parents were on vacation (well at the time they were in a plane so they weren't answering their phones). So since I had a lot of experience (unfortunately) with car accidents, I helped her figure everything out and deal with the insurance company and the police and the towing people. It was basically the same as my insurance company (I am from Chicago) so I didn't have any problems helping her figure it all out.

After this whole ordeal though (she was pretty shaken up) I thought about what I had learned in school or drivers ed and how much about getting into an accident they actually taught us. I remember them teaching about how NOT to get into an accident, but really they didn't tell us what it would be like when we did, or how to handle the situation. I guess it was good for Kayla that I had been through this so many times and I had experienced it and knew what to do (because she certainly didn't) she went into her room and crawled up into a ball and cried while me and my other roommate took care of it.

But there really should be a class just on important things like insurance. Not just car insurance, but health and life and all types that we would need to learn about. I remember in finance this year we talked about something called Interim Health Insurance, but to be honest I have no idea what it is. We spent about 3 minutes of class time on it and then moved on to the next topic. Other things like Missionary Health Insurance, which I heard about from a friend or insurance for those that study abroad in school or even just for people who travel. If we don't learn about these things in school (or somewhere) how are we supposed to know that we need them? Even if you have regular health insurance, if you are traveling out of the country you don't know if you will be covered. You need to be educated on important things like this and schools need to take the initiative to help students out and learn for their futures.

» Finding the best diet pill

By China at 1:46 PM

I heard that the best diet pill out is that one with that berry. I forget the name, but it is all the rage these days. It is supposed to boost metabolism while suppressing hunger at the same time. Most diet pills attempt to do this, but supposedly this one does so very effectively and is all natural. Why should I worry about diet pills when some other people can eat what ever they want? It is just not fair sometimes. I defiantly have trouble with weight. In order to maintain my ideal weight I cannot eat anything bad. One year I ate nothing but fruits and vegetables all day and a nice hot meal in the early evening. That worked very well because it did what all the best diet pills do. The constant munching on healthy foods kept my metabolism fired up so my the time i did eat some fats and starches, which cause weight gain, they were burned up almost as soon as I ate them. Unfortunately I could not keep up with that healthy eating style because I am a pig who loves bad bad food all day long. I do not even eat a whole lot and that is the problem. I don't eat all day and eat to late in the evening. This is a very bad habit because it is the fastest way to beat down the metabolism and make it the most sluggish thing in the world. Even when using diet pills you are supposed to eat right at the same time. It think before implementing the use of pills or diet plans a person should first address there level of self love. You really have to have your mind right to be successful at anything. I personally have had a rough few years emotionally so it is no surprise I treat my body like ... you know. Sometimes it can be very hard to change bad habits and bad thinking. Purchasing diet pills can have a motivating affect on a person to focus on themselves though. The best diet pills usually include some behavioral advise as well. Telling people to drink this much and eat this and that instead of what ever the junk they have been eating. The best diet pill would be one that could re-program the mind in order to change the thinking involved in the bad habits that cause weight gain.

» MAKING THE SWITCH TO HUGHESNET INTERNET

By China at 10:31 AM

I never realized that there were so many differences in high speed internet services. There are really a lot of choices as far as internet connections go. I always thought that either you had dial up service or a high speed internet connection like DSL or cable. Now I realize that there are different levels of connectivity, and I have been shopping around for the highest speed internet at the best price. Someone told me that if I want to have a higher speed internet connection, I am really going to have to pay the big bucks. Well, this guy who told me this is one of those "I know everything" types, so I really started looking just to prove him wrong. I knew that somewhere there had to be a company out there that could give me an awesome deal on a really high speed connection and sure enough, I was right. I found this great company called Hughesnet, and I was really impressed. They had some great prices and all different levels of internet connection speeds. The faster it goes the more you pay, that much is true, but even their lowest level of service is well above that of my current internet provider and the price was about the same as I am currently paying. Well, I called the customer service line for the site, and they were extremely helpful and told me all about their different levels of service and what I should expect. They also told me that if I wasn't happy with my service I could cancel within 30 days, but they said hardly anyone does that because the service is so incredible. Well, I went back to the guy with this info and told him that he was wrong. I liked the information I got @ www.satellitefamily.com/hughesnet.asp that I decided to give it a try, after all it was about the same as I was paying for my internet service anyway. Well, there was an incredible difference, I didn't even realize that internet connections could be this fast. Now I can get everything done in about half the time. My friends are amazed and now my roommate wants to use my internet connection all the time.

» Tee Shirts

By China at 10:08 AM

I have a tee shirt for everything I have ever participated in it seems. When I was younger and in gymnastics, my dad would buy a tee shirt for the size I was then and for one that would fit me when I was way older so I would have it as a memory (who knows why) but he would buy these tee shirts for every single meet and there were times when the meets were every weekend for months in a row and I did it for about ten years (yea that is a whole lot of tee shirts).

And then in high school we got a tee shirt for every single thing we did. We got a freshman class tee shirt and one for sophomore, junior and several for senior year. We also got them for every sport we played every year (I did cheerleading, cross country and volleyball).

And now that I am in college I have gotten tee shirts that say the universities name in so many different ways it could make your head spin. And for my sorority we get a tee shirt for every single little event we participate in. I counted how many tee shirts that I have with me (this doesn't include the probably 200 that I left at home and didn't make the cut to bring to school) and I have about 450. Meaning about 640 tee shirts in total which is absolutely insane. There is no way I could even wear that many and I definitely don't have room for all of them, they take up most of the under my bed space, my closet and my drawers. I could almost wear 2 tee shirts a day for a year and never have to do laundry.

I know my parents meant well when they were buying all of them for me, and I am sure that one day when I am much older and looking back at my youth I will want to have some of them, and they are convenient and comfortable to wear, it just seems like an obscene amount to own. I guess though somewhere inside of me I feel attached to them, because I always have a hard time donating them when it comes to be that time of year and when friends come over I secretly hate to lend them out. Maybe I'll end up to be one of those cat ladies, but with tee shirts instead.

» Credit Card Counseling

By China at 8:58 AM

I am a firm believer that credit card counseling should be mandatory when you apply and get approved for credit. I think that with the way our economy is today, people need to be much more aware of how they are spending and if they can afford it. I think that people feel like credit cards mean that they are rich or have more money than they really do, but in fact it is the opposite. Not only are you paying for the item but you are also paying interest. I learned in finance that your payments should never outlive what you are buying on a credit card. So you shouldn't have to use it for dinner or things that will last a day like going out to the movie or ice cream.

I think we just need to have more education on credit cards and money in general. There should be a mandatory class on it in high school. I know they have a class like consumer education or something usually, but we spent about 2 days on credit cards in that class and we should have had it for much longer. People not knowing enough about how to save their money wisely or have an emergency fund or how to budget is part of the reason that our economy is like this now. If people didn't have to rely on credit cards when something happened (assuming they don't have the money to pay for it) then they would be able to pay it back right away. They should have money set aside instead of having to use money they don't have with credit.

A lot of college students get into trouble as well with credit cards. They think they can just run up a bill now then take care of it later, but often they get caught up and end up way over their heads in debt. Then they are graduating and are in debt and their credit score is low and they can't get loans or apply for credit cards now.

I just feel like if people were educated on the subject and made aware then they could make better choices. Sure people will still probably make poor choices when it comes to credit, but it could greatly impact a lot of others. Credit card counseling could be the key to getting our economy back on track.

» Vinyl Flooring

By China at 8:55 AM

Vinyl flooring is something that is actually really popular. We have it in our kitchen here at school and it is really easy to wipe off and clean (which is especially nice now that it is winter and we keep dragging in snow).

Usually students renting a house on a college campus have little say about the makeup of the house, but the landlord happened to be redoing the kitchen right before we moved in so we got to help make some of the decisions. We got to help pick out the floor so we chose an anti slip vinyl safety flooring which comes in different squares and it's like a tan ish color. It matches our walls which are like tan and white and sponge painted (it actually looks really cool) and our back splash behind our counters which is a brown color.

Picking out the floor and a few of the other details was really fun and exciting for us, because besides living in an apartment last year, this is really the first time my roommates and I have lived on our own and got to make our own decisions. So picking out colors and tile was really fun for us. It makes me think about one day when I'll live on my own in my own house and get to make all of the decisions about painting the walls and the floors and carpets and the decorations. It all seems so exciting (well probably more exciting now since I don't have the stress of actually having to do it yet).

At my house at home where I live with my dad we had a pretty big say in things. We moved in a while ago, but when we redecorated, we were older so we got to help make a lot of the decisions. We all got to decide what our rooms would look like and how we would decorate them down to the fans and the carpeting color. My sister and I got to pick out our bathroom decorations and the colors also. And then we all got to help out with the photo formatting for the family pictures we have in the living room and the hallways. So overall we made a lot of decisions. But it is a lot more fun thinking about having your own place and getting to do whatever you want with it.
