There are so many options now when you are traveling that it is nice to get the opinions from fellow travelers. One good place to go and browse is travelersthoughts. This site is like a blog from people's recent trips. This travel industry blog is a great way to help you plan your trip a little smoother and with ideas that you may not have even thought of without looking around. Blogs are such a great way to feel around and learn a little more about something you're going to do in the future. You can avoid a lot of trouble by hearing out what other people have gone through. A friend of mine's parents are looking for a house on the lake. Since we have had a lake house almost my whole life, I know from listening to my parents that they can be expensive to insure because they are right on the water and also because so many accidents occur. Reading blogs like www.insuredthoughts.com, which is an insurance blog, can help you to prepare yourself for any bumps in the road. Reading about other people's mishaps make you feel bad for them, but also wiser and more prepared for when you do something similar, like buying a house near water. It is great to hear what other people have to say without actually having to talk to them. By reading their blogs, you get their personal feelings on a situation that could be similar to one you have, or are about to be in.
Another kind of blog that I think is great is a blog about health. There are so many people that are suffering from illnesses or some sort of discomfort or disease and they are either too shy or feel awkward in a support group, or even maybe can't afford counseling. By have a blog at your finger tips like thoughtsonhealth, you can hear about what other people going through the exact same thing have to say. You can know that you aren't alone and that there are other people out there going through the same pain and symptoms that you are experiencing. I think health blogs are more powerful than any other because often people feel like they are alone in what they are feeling, but they have other peoples personal accounts right in front of them and they can read about it in the comfort of their own homes.
