» TEMPORARY MEDICAL INSURANCE FILLS IN THE GAPS

By China at 3:23 PM

If you are in need of short term health insurance then there is an option that you should be aware of. There are many different companies out there that can offer you something called temporary medical insurance. Temporary medical insurance is an excellent option if you are between jobs or have been recently laid off. It is also extremely helpful if you are working for a company that has no health insurance benefits. The purpose of this insurance is to be used as a temporary insurance when there are lapses in policy. Many people opt for remaining uninsured during there lapses in health insurance, however, this is not a wise choice. The main reason this is not a good idea is that a new health insurance company will closely scrutinize an applicant who has not maintained health insurance for a period of 6 months or more. They will then penalize you for not having had insurance and will begin to deny your new claims, claiming they are for pre-existing conditions. This can be a real hassle. I found out this information from an Illinois health insurance company representative, who told me all about this and how more and more health insurance companies were penalizing people who went for a period of time without insurance.

This just seems a little cruel to me. I mean it is bad enough you have had to switch jobs and live without insurance, but then to penalize you because you couldn't afford to pay for it, that is just too much. Anyway, that is what makes temporary medical insurance such a blessing. Believe me, even if you think that you can't afford it, you really can't afford not to have it. When you are dealing with the big insurance companies, you must cover all of your bases, to insure that you will be covered fully again down the road. Paying for insurance can be a hassle, but not paying for it will cost you a lot more in the long run, take it from me.
